Woman Warriors

I'm doing some research trying to find stories of historical/mythological woman warriors that would make good one-act plays. Does anyone have any favorites that I should look at? So far I've been thinking about Bradamante from the Charlemagne stories (*sigh* Bradamante, you're my hero!) but would love to hear other suggestions.

One place to start looking is Encyclopedia Mythica.

Granuaile/Graine Ni Maille (Grace O'Malley), the Irish pirate has a fairly famous story; in her later years she ended up meeting Queen Elizabeth I face-to-face to plead for leniency for her decades of preying on English ships...

The legends of Aife and Scathach, a pair of opposed female warrior chiefs, are tied into the Irish Cuchullainn legends as well; lots of sources exist about those names/stories.
