At the post office today, I discovered that Chicago is one of the cities participating in the pilot program to recycle small electronics by mail. Small, postage-paid envelopes can be picked up at the post office, and can be filled with all manner of small electronics - cell phones, iPods, inkjet cartridges, PDAs, etc, etc... and then you just drop it in the mail. You don't have to go to a special dropoff point, you don't have to pay anything, and you get to keep electronics and the toxic chemicals inside them out of landfills. Win!
So, if you live in Chicago or another of the pilot program cities, please, participate in this. I think this is a great idea and the more people use it, the more likely they are to expand the program nationwide.
