Oh LJ hivemind, a question for you: does anyone know of a good source for 1950's-style dress patterns? Searching on the internet has mostly yielded patterns printed in the 1950's that are being sold on eBay, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good source for someone who is currently producing such patterns.

Sometimes the pattern companies re-issue older patterns, but it's not all that common. My brain is whispering "Vintage Vogue" as a pattern line in the Vogue catalog; you should be able to find it online and see if there's anything there that is what you're looking for.

I am answering the wrong question, I know. But if you were looking for a decent 1940s swing dress pattern in ... my size range (put that however you like), I highly recommend this one:

Everything on her site is done in that modest fashion, but one can easily alter hem and necklines to suit.

So there you are, information you didn't want :)

I would call this "information I didn't know I needed but which is nonetheless useful." :) Thank you!
